"Sparkle" in the Eye

It was 11.30pm while Jesse was sleeping and mummy resting. Suddenly Samuel screamed frantically. It was so loud that daddy went running over to see what happened to him. (Samuel sleeps in his own room)

Initially, daddy thought it was a bad dream. When daddy tried to calm Samuel down, daddy asked him whats wrong. He did not stop crying. He was in pain . . .
Daddy didn't know how serious it was because about 11.00pm (half an hour ago before he started screaming) he asked mummy to help put eye drops because his right eye is painful.

Later when he told daddy that something is in his left eye, daddy thought it was another "manja" incident that he wanted attention to put some eye drops again. Daddy, as usual wanted to make sure that everything was ok, (thinking that probably an eye lash or a strain of hair has gotten inside his eye) checked his eye thoroughly.

To daddy's horror . . . there was a shiny silver reflection in Samuel's left eye . . .

It was this star confetti daddy found in Samuel's left eye.

The "Star Confetti" in comparison to a Malaysian 10 sen coin

Daddy was shocked and immediately tried to hold Samuel down so that he will not move while daddy tried to open his eye to take it out.

Daddy's heart stopped when Samuel closed his eyes and when he opened it, it was not there anymore . . . It went under his eye lids . . .

No where to be found??! . . . and daddy knows how sharp and big it was it must be hurting so much . . . Knowing Samuel is in pain and daddy feeling so helpless, daddy immediately shouted for mummy to help . . .

Before mummy came into Samuel's room . . . daddy took a deep breath . . .

Daddy finally managed to get it out of his eye . . .

Both daddy and mummy was concerned if his eye was ok. Daddy went to get an eye drop just to wash his eye a little just incase if the "star confetti" was not clean or would have scratched his eye while it was in there.

Daddy and mummy asked Samuel where did it the "star confetti" come from and how did it get into his eye? Samuel couldn't answer. . .

It still remains a mystery how it actually got into Samuel's eye . . .

Thank God Samuel is ok now . . .
